Scenes from the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries: Website is about scratch built model work boats of the Chesapeake Bay. And the life I lived on the river as a kid and as a young man. ![]() Now I would like to tell you a little about myself: Name: Charles W. Williams: I'm sixty three years old, born in Maryland and grew up on the Patuxent River In a little village called Broomes Island. I had so many wonderful experiences, growing up I could talk about them for days on end. I served four years in the Navy, that was a great experience too and days I will never forget. You know I have lots of sea stories! After the Navy, went to work for the government until I came down with rheumatoid arthritis, (the slow killer) is what I call it. That was thirty years ago, this must be one of the worst diseases there is. I can't do much of anything any more but sit in a chair. To lift a gallon of milk is a chore for me, But I've had a great and wonderful life, my parents were the best. I got married and built my home on the Island, had four wonderfull kids Chucky, Ricky, Bridget, and Tracy. After twenty years got divorced: Married again and I'm still in Maryland but live closer to the Chesapeake Bay. I have a wonderful wife, we bought an old place and rebuilt it together. We have had almost twenty years together, She is my anchor, she is what keeps me going. If it wasn't for her help I don't know how I would survive. With her two kids Christy, Sandy and my four we now have eight beautiful grand kids. Johnny, Stephanie, Michael, Kristin, Jessica, Julie, C.J.and the youngest another little darling Jessica. I've had both hands operated on, the joints replaced, and both hips. Both of my knees need replaced, Both shoulders have dropped out of place, had right foot operated on and the left one needs it to. I use a wheel chair when I have to go any distance. I have lived on the water most of my life and now have trouble with pre-cancers. You would think that all of this would be enough wrong for one person, but my neck is bad at the base of the skull. This one really had me worried until I recently found out I have a heart valve that's leaking, what will be next? I live day by day and its really getting pitiful now. I now know what the old Sterling felt like, she was an old log canoe dad had when I was a kid. She was around ninety years old and she must have been saying Please! Please! don't poke anymore cotton in me or try to patch me up, just leave me alone!! Doctors, Doctors and more doctors but I can still kid around (a little bit) anyway and I guess that's what really counts and can still crack a joke now and then. If anyone should have a question or would like to E-Mail me Please do. |
